Watercolor, Kirby/Captain America, Simonson/Thor
I was recently on Facebook today and came across a post by The Jack Kirby Museum, a great website highlighting the magnificent work by Jack "The King" Kirby and his amazing art. This particular post highlighted the art of Captain America and Falcon issue number 210 from 1977. What struck me was the piece writer Rob Steibel remarked on, a splash page that featured a beautifully rendered Donna Maria Puentes alongside Captain America. While researching coloring techniques for an upcoming project I'm art directing I couldn't resist working off this sample art piece with some digitally enhanced water coloring techniques.
